The Spirit movie is now out in theatres. It’s been out since Christmas, but I have not yet had a chance to see it. Unfortunately, the reviews are not that great.
However, The Spirit comics are timeless classics and well worth reading. The spirit was created by Will Eisner and was initially published as a Sunday [...]

Today I was posting online about some of the cheesy comics from the 1980’s and Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew immediately came to mind.
This total cheese comic was the brainchild of Roy Thomas and Scott Shaw!. Yes, Scott has an exclamation point at the end of his name.
Anyway, I loved this as a [...]

I couldn’t believe it when I first heard about it, but it seems that there are currently about 84 different comics or comic book titles being considered for a movie. Hard to believe, but I’m surprised that the film industry is that far gung ho over comic books.

Nearing the finish of some great Halloween or scary comic book covers.
House of Secrets #92 is perhaps the most famous of all horror comic covers. This is the first appearance of the Swamp Thing with comic cover art by Berni Wrightson.

Continuing with some great Halloween or scary comic book covers.
House of Mystery #206 may be my favorite Halloween cover of all time. I was going to save this comic to post on Halloween, but I couldn’t wait. Enjoy.

All-Star Batman and Robin #10 was released and recalled yesterday. Apparently, some curse words that were supposed to be blacked out were not fully blacked out.
Although DC did a recall, many issues were sold and are now going for $20 or more on Ebay.
Some might think so, but, I would not call this issue, drawn [...]

Comic book dealers and fans have a hard time pinpointing the exact beginning of any of the ages, the bronze age being no different. However, one theme stands out near the beginning is the risk Marvel and DC took to publish Amazing Spider-Man 96-98 and Green Lantern starting with #76. Those issues dealt with social [...]

After many years, the heirs of Superman’s co-creator, Jerry Siegel, have won the copyright to Superman. Read about Superman’s copyright here.
Seventy years ago, in 1938, Jerome Siegel and Joseph Shuster created Superman and sold the rights to Detective Comics (DC Comics, owned by Time Warner) for a mere $130. Time Warner is challenging the court [...]
