I couldn’t believe it when I first heard about it, but it seems that there are currently about 84 different comics or comic book titles being considered for a movie. Hard to believe, but I’m surprised that the film industry is that far gung ho over comic books.

Here the link over at Den of Geek.

Among some of the obvious ones are DC and Marvel classics. The are the Spider-Man and Batman movies, of course. But, there are also movies for Wonder Woman, Wolverine, Thor, Captain America, the Silver Surfer the big guy, Superman.

Two big superhero team movies slated include Avengers and Justice League. If either of these get made, watch for increases to Avengers #1, Brave and the Bold #1 (first Justice League appearance) and Justice League #1.

Here are a few interesting comic book titles that are on the list that I would like to be made into a major motion picture. First, Jonah Hex. Launched in the 1970’s, this character is roughly based on Clint Eastwood’s Man with no name. The current title is a fun read as well. There is also Goon. With the huge success of Hellboy, it will be interesting to see if Eric Powell’s creation can make it on the big screen.
