Today is December 7, 2008. It is a day many remember as Pearl Harbor Day, or, “a day that will live in infamy.” On December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.

Although war themes were becoming popular in the golden age comics books prior to this day, at was the attack on Pearl Harbor that really kicked off some amazing war time art and stories. World War II was a very popular cover theme for comics of the Golden Age. All the major publishers at the time took the opportunity to portray the United States as a force of good and the German and Japanese as evil.

This Golden Age comic book was title Remember Pearl Harbor. It was a one-shot published by Street and Smith in 1942. The cover image is striking for the portrayal of Uncle Sam.
